Front Desk/Reservations Agent

The Ramada Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre is currently recruiting for a dynamic individual to fill the posiiton of Reservations Specialist.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep an open line of communication with the Director of Rooms, Front Office and the Sales & Catering Department
  • Communicate all pertinent information regarding upcoming group and in-house reservations
  • Follow up with group bookings regarding confirmations, cancellations and cut off dates
  • Complete reservation audits ensuring accuracy and follows up with associates
  • Responsible for booking base business and assisting with extended stay customer’s needs
  • Ensure all billing instructions are clearly noted on the reservations and correct authorization is received and directed to the correct billing address
  • Act as the main contact for group and in-house reservations
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel room types, rates, amenities, and facilities and applies this knowledge to maximize selling opportunities and improve guest satisfaction
  • Review group block cutoff’s & inventory management
  • Input & updates group rooming lists 
  • Assist customers with any concerns or challenges
  • Run various reports as needed
  • Assist other departments as required
  • Organize filing of group details & folders
  • Data entry and complete report updates
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Rooms to update forecasts and close out hotel inventory
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety, Environmental hotel policies and procedures
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all issues and matters of significance
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as a reservation agent within a high volume hotel environment
  • Excellent command of the English language, written and oral
  • Superior communication skills in person and on the telephone
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Experience working with Opera an asset
  • Energetic and flexible, able to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated, creative, capable of working in a team environment and independently
