The Greenway Inn is recruiting for a self-motivated individual to take the position of General Manager. The hotel is independently owned and located in Lacombe, Alberta with 49 rooms and is complimented with restaurant and health spa facilities.
The General Manager is responsible for the oversight of the hotel operation including but not limited to the following:
overseeing the front desk and housekeeping functions with the assistance from the respective supervisors;
enforcing various internal controls of the hotel operation;
overseeing the maintenance of the building, equipment and furniture as well as ground maintenance;
overseeing the accounting functions including approval of expenditures, payroll, payables, accounts receivable, collection and monthly reporting to the shareholders;
hiring, firing and performance evaluation of hotel personnel;
marketing and promotion of the hotel including liaisoning with other local groups and businesses for joint events;
interaction with the restaurant and health spa lessees on a regular basis;
reporting to the ownership board of directors on a timely basis.
Qualifications: a diploma in Business& Administration or equivalent; 2 or more years in management or assistance to management position; hotel marketing experience is preferred; demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team; ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments; knowledge in accounting and bookkeeping is preferred; ability to deal with customers, particularly trouble shooting; able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; proficient with Microsoft Office softwares.

Successful candidate is expected to be relocated to Lacombe or nearby area. Temporary accommodation at the hotel will be provided during the relocation period. The starting date of the position is to be mutually agreed upon and preferably as soon as possible.
Salary and benefits are to be negotiated and depending on qualifications.
