Job Description: As Sous Chef you will work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and will be responsible to maintain the incredible success of Becker’s Gourmet Restaurant. The successful candidate will exhibit innovative culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading, developing and monitoring the kitchen brigade and maintaining all day to day food related functions. Working to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of Becker’s Gourmet Restaurant. Supervising all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, unique, high quality product is produced. Responsible for smooth delivery of meals to dining guests, keeping food quality and consistency in line with business and within the Alberta Food Safety and Becker’s Gourmet Restaurant standards.
Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess: - A minimum of 1 year experience as Sous Chef or 2 year’s experience as a Chef de Partie. - Solid understanding of the restaurant and hospitality industry - Post-secondary education related to the industry - Red Seal papers or equivalent experience - Able to direct, problem solve, self-start and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously - Excellent guest, customer and employee relation skills - Flexible to work morning and afternoon shifts - Strategic planning, strong leadership skills and previous experience managing food and labor costs an asset
